Doulas love Cradle & Coos - here's why

Michaela Parnell

Birth Doula (San Francisco)

“Cradle & Coos has been a valuable platform for me as a doula to connect with families seeking support that empowers them on their journey to parenthood. The Cradle & Coos process is well-organized. I appreciate how easy it is to create and maintain a profile that highlights my skills, certifications, and experience, and the platform allows me to connect with families in a way that feels personal. Overall, I highly recommend Cradle & Coos to both fellow doulas and expectant families. It’s a powerful tool that helps birth workers reach more people while ensuring that families receive the compassionate care they deserve.”

Lydia Carlie Tilus

"Working with Cradles and Coos has been refreshing and easeful. As a solopreneur and doula we have many tasks we are constantly juggling between providing services, supporting families and running our businesses. Cradle and Coos respect that labor and provide us with a means to lighten that load. They Doula the Doula. Thank you!'

Glen J, Doula

Newborn Care Specialist, Certified Lactation Counselor (Oakland)

“As a doula and NCS, I prefer to spend my time supporting my families or researching new information and new ways to better support them. Working with Cradle and Coos has helped me to match with families and so I spend more time doing doula things, less time doing admin things. I found the process streamlined and straightforward, and I'm particularly pleased by the respect for my preferences that was meted out to me.Cradle and Coos was spoken of highly to me by a trusted birth worker friend, and I will happily add to that voice to speak just as highly to anyone considering working with them.”

Marta Barensfeld

Birth and Postpartum Doula, Student Midwife (San Francisco)

“It has been a pleasure working with Cradle and Coos! Their team is kind, supportive, and easy to work with. They feel more like a partner and not an employer, which was important to me moving forward. They support doulas in the more "business side of things" all while keeping our autonomy and truly considering both the interests and personality compatibilities of both doula and clients. I wholeheartedly recommend Cradle and Coos.”

Monique Kolin

“I have had the pleasure of working with Cradle and Coos since the company went live, and it has been an incredibly positive experience. Their team is gracious, and always quick to respond and offers valuable insights and resources that have not only benefited me as a doula but are also helpful for the prospective families I work with. As an independent doula, having another avenue for connecting with expectant families has been nothing but a positive experience and I look forward to continuing our partnership! I would absolutely recommend C&C to anyone looking for doula opportunities!”

I am a trainee doula and do not have full certification completed, can I still apply?

Yes, you may still apply and upload proof of your completed training. However, please note that we consider certification status when matching providers with families. Some families prefer working with fully certified providers, while others are open to working with less experienced or trainee doulas at a more affordable rate.

Who are Cradle and Coos clients? How do I get clients?

Cradle and Coos clients include families who sign up directly through our platform and pay out of pocket. Additionally, we work with employers and insurance partners who provide postpartum care benefits to their employees or members. We match you with clients based on location, budget considerations, preferences, and your areas of expertise.

How do I get referrals / matches?

All referrals are directed to you through the Cradle and Coos platform. Cradle and Coos uses a proprietary matching system that pairs families with providers through an innovative and efficient algorithm. We typically offer clients a selection of three providers based on criteria such as location, type of care needed, presenting concerns, budget, as well as providers’ expertise, availability, and rates.

Is there a minimum number of clients I need?

There is no minimum client requirement to remain on the platform. However, we encourage providers to take on more clients by offering a year-end bonus, which is calculated based on the number of hours spent serving families through our platform.

Can I continue to take private clients outside of Cradle and Coos?

Yes, you are free to continue taking private clients, as you are not bound by a non-compete agreement. As an independent contractor with Cradle and Coos, you can choose how much time you dedicate to our platform. Our role is to make your work easier and more convenient, allowing you the flexibility to set your own schedule while practicing what you love.

How much will I get paid?

You set your own rate. During the contracting phase, the family will decide how many hours of support they need or select the package they wish to use, and you will be compensated accordingly.

How much does it cost to be part of the Cradle and Coos network?

There are no fees to sign up or to be part of our network. However, once a family contracts with you through our platform, we charge you a small success fee, based on the contract value. Our ultimate goal is to build a platform that is fair and sustainable for our listed providers. If you have any questions about our model, feel free to reach out at info@cradleandcoos.com
