Muneeza Patel
Founder & full-spectrum doula
Muneeza founded Cradle & Coos after working in healthcare consulting and digital health, and after navigating her own path into full-spectrum doula care. She holds Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Computational Biology from MIT and previously worked at McKinsey & Company and Memora Health. Today she focuses on making birth and postpartum support transparent, accessible, and carefully matched—starting in the Bay Area.

Our current health system has let birthing parents down. Firsthand experience in healthcare consulting and as a health-tech startup executive highlighted the system’s inadequacies and a pressing need for change. The gap in immediate postpartum care after birth—often delayed up to six weeks—motivated the founding of Cradle & Coos: a place where families can access continuous, compassionate support essential to well-being after childbirth.
At Cradle & Coos, we are dedicated to transforming the journey of starting a family into a seamless and joyful experience for expectant individuals and parents. Inspired by holistic postpartum traditions from cultures around the world—including Latin America’s “cuarentena,” China’s “zuo yue zi,” and Nigeria’s “omugwo”—we aim to raise the quality of post-birth care for everyone.

What is included in your doula services?

Your packages do not list all services like parental counseling, how can I access those?
We are dedicated to expanding our offerings and are currently in the process of creating additional packages for our clients. Nevertheless, if there are specific services you require that are not yet available, please do not hesitate to contact us. We will gladly design a custom package tailored to your needs, free of charge, ensuring it perfectly suits you.
How much do you charge?
We are committed to providing upfront and transparent pricing. Birth packages typically range from $2,500–$3,500. Postpartum doula support generally ranges from $50–$75 per hour. For services not listed or for more personalized needs, please feel free to reach out. We are more than willing to create a custom package specifically for you, at no additional charge, to ensure it meets your requirements perfectly.
